
Rapid Action Planning (RAP) is based on the concepts defined in the GE model of WorkOut™. It is a process of concentrated decision-making and empowerment used to resolve issues and improve processes. Some problems do not require intense data collection – just getting the right people in the room to make an informed decision.
Why RAP? An important part of a culture change process is to get away from a "top down" mentality for change. This allows for the institution of continuous improvement where the person who does the job is the person with the authority to make changes. Also, RAP brings the philosophy of speed and simplicity (Lean Thinking) and adds selfconfidence in the process of making change, allowing for a forum of rapid decision-making with follow-up action plans.
